Backpacking India (Part 10: Amritsar)
Tuesday, March 16th, 2010Amritsar, located 32km from the Pakistani border, is where you will find the Golden Temple, the holiest shrine of Sikhism. We visited the temple, which happens to have some not-so-happy lessons in history, and later strolled about the city. Although we only spent 24 hrs in Amritsar, we ended up going to the temple 3 times as the sights are constantly changing in the different light and at night.
