Backpacking India (Part 6: Rishikesh and Chandigarh)
Tuesday, March 9th, 2010After all the noise and craziness of Varanasi we headed to Rishikesh in the state of Uttarakhand, a quaint town north of Delhi. A hippie hangout, it also has a lot of nature to enjoy and offered a very welcome change of pace, and some unwelcome hasheads. When that wore off we made a short call in Chandigarh, a throughly un-Indian city that seems more like something from America rather than the Subcontinent. There we bummed around the famous Rock Garden – a public park made out of various recycled construction materials. Check it.
