This was my trip to Bushnell, Florida, for the annual re-enactment of the “Dade Battle” (known in history as the “Dade Massacre”). The Dade Battle was fought in 1835. In this battle, Major Dade led 110 US soldiers on a march from present-day Tampa up to reinforce the US garrison at present-day Ocala. They were shadowed by 180 Seminole warriors.
