Have been on the second largest ship as well as the 5th, 6th and 7th. All RCCL ships and have never gotten sick no have I heard of anyone getting sick (that is not to say it didn’t happen). To my knowledge, RCCL has only one shipwide sickness breakout which is pretty good for a cruise line with over 20 ships and that has 9 of the top 10 largest ships in the world. They are always cleaning everywhere people touch things (i.e. handrails) and constantly handing out hand wipes.

Have been on the Freedom of the seas, another big ship 1B to build. 4,500 to 5000 peeps on board. RCCL does a great job of making sure sickness outbreaks do not occur. They hand out hand wipes everywhere you go and they are always cleaning handrails and other things you touch. RCCL has only had one sickness breakout that I know of which is pretty good since they have 9 of the top ten largest ships in the world.

This is the biggest cruise ship for now. However, even bigger cruise ships as long as over 2000 feet and displacing as much as 1 million deadweight tonnage (DWT) are planned and may steam to a seaport near you in the next few years. They will be built in Asian shipyards and use steel-carbonfiber alloys that are much stronger than the steels in ships used today. The new ships will be designed to withstand rogue waves as high as 130 feet (40 meters).
